I'm done. But, honestly, I'll never be done! I will always be striving for the next thing, and I'll always be working at maintaining my health and happiness. You do have to work for them both, they aren't just handed to you!
I believed, I did it, I became what I dreamed of being.
I believe, you will do it too.
I believed in myself. I believe in YOU!
I now have a BP of 112/72 instead of 141/95.
I now have a body fat % of approx 20%
I now can run, and run, and run some more...15.5 miles as of 7/18/09.
I now KNOW I will be a finisher for the Portland Marathon, not just a starter.
I now know not just what healthy foods are (I always did know this) but what healthy PORTIONS are for my body.
I now know that it isn't just about the body and trying for perfection...cuz there will always be SOMETHING that isn't perfect...it's even MORE about the mind and the spirit. If your mind and spirit are healthy, your body can't help but follow along.
I now know that no matter what, I can be and AM Happy!
Today, May 19, 2009...123.4 on the scale. Maintenance is truly arrived. Now...on to learning how strong I can make my body, and learning how NOT to undo all the hard work I've accomplished so far.
Yes, I'm still shooting for 120, but for today at least, I am totally okay if that number doesn't happen.
4/10/09 - Leaving the title in place even though I finally broke through and am steadily under 130 lbs...it's a great reminder of where I'm coming from, and where I want to go! Once I reach 120 lbs, the intense weight training will begin! Who would have thought that I would have Muscles by the time I'm 50?!?!?!
Why the title change? because for the past several months (april - oct 2008) I've bounced from 135 to 130 and back again. I have yet to see 129.8 on my scale. Time for a new change...so...no more Yo Yo's for this gal!
Hi, My name is Robin (or you can call me Kash) and welcome to my spark page! I found SP in May of 2006 and officially joined in June. On my joining date I weighed 180. As of this page revision on 1/15/07 I weigh almost 140 lbs. I find the motivation of working with others online who have the same goals as I helps me a lot. I also have found out that by my helping someone else when they feel like they don't have the motivation to keep going, I keep myself on track too.
I don't always make my goals in the time I've set for them, but I always make my goals! Quoting a saying from another group I have experience with: "IT WORKS IF YOU WORK IT".
Update!!! - 7/31/2006 - I have now lost that original 30 lbs, plus 6 more!. My current goal is 140 by Halloween/Samhain, and 125 by sometime next spring.
Update #2 - 9/10/2006 - I keep creeping closer to my goal. 7 more pounds gone since my last update. I will do this, and it feels great knowing that.
Update #3 - 2/13/2007 - I fit into my size 8 jeans tonight, a little snug, but with another few weeks of exercise they will be a perfect fit. Only 11 lbs from my goal of 125!
Update #4 - 6/5/08 - It has been TOO long since I did an update. I managed to work my way back up to 150 right before Thanksgiving in '07, and have been working HARD to get back down since then. As of this morning I'm back to 135.2, and seem to have broken through a 3 + month plateau of bouncing between 136 and 142. I current plan, baring another plateau, is to reach that original goal weight of 125 lbs by August 1, and I really know that this time I'm going to accomplish it!
12/5/08 - I am officially under 130!!! This morning's weigh in was 127.6...WOO HOO! It is so cool to climb on the scale with clothes ON and see a number under 135 every time. This year the holiday season is not knocking me for a loop, and my goal is in sight! WOO HOO!!!
2/1/08 - 125.8 this morning. Goal still in site, but losing weight at this point becomes harder and harder! Thank goodness for my Body Bugg...it really does help with keeping me on track.
I've been holding back from doing this for a long time, but here goes. Jumping in with Both Feet- and my running shoes!

I'm there! I started this trip somewhere around 230 lbs in 2002. Before SP I'd been able to get down between 180 and 175, then I'd go back up to 200, over and over again. Now, I no longer say When I get there, because I've arrived. Now, the plan is STAYING HERE for the rest of my life!
Gym 3 or more nights a week after work, and Saturday and Sunday mornings. Weight training with a personal terrorist, oops I mean trainer. I track EVERY bite I eat, even if it's a small olive or a spoonful of cottage cheese. I drink a minimum of 8 cups of water, sometimes up to 16 cups when I'm really working hard.
I'm Kashmir and I live in the Pacific NW. I'm 52, widowed, and have 3 grown sons. All in all I am a pretty healthy and happy person. My first goal was to build my stamia so I could go hiking again and not have to stop and catch my breath every 10 minutes.
Goal Accomplished! I went to the Red Woods of Northern Calif in 2006, and went hiking every day for 5 days...It was so great! I was even able to do the hike down from the gondola at the Trees Of Mystery, one mile, super steep and lots of switchbacks. My next goals is to climb on the slopes of Mt St Helens again. I climbed the mountain in 1975, long before she blew up. Now that she's open to hikers again, I want to go see the changes first hand.
