Hunting for Better Health, One Quest at a Time

After 10 years of on-and-off-again healthy living, I was FINALLY able to motivate my husband to stick to his plan by calling it "The Spartan Program" after the characters in his favorite video game, Halo.

Since then, we've been trying to find other fun ways to incorporate our favorite super heroes, avatars, and pop culture trends into motivating changes.

Can The Walking Dead help explain healthy eating? Yes it can!
Super Hero Smoothies? You bet!

Put a note under, Healthier Eating Choices On Guam, that you may want to check out next time you are on Guam.

Have you recuperated from your trip?

I eat pretty much what you're eating right now, sans meat. Mostly I eat fresh vegetables, mostly raw. I add in some nuts and seeds and stuff like ground flax, chia seeds, hemp seeds, hemp protein powder, spirulina...I make my own soy yogurt. I was making my own tempeh, haven't in bit. I make vegetable stock from all the vegetable scraps I accumulate. I sprout loads of stuff and want to get into sprouting in earth, stuff like sunflower seeds...I, too, eat very little fruit although I'm in a more relaxed phase right now.

Some time ago you spoke about exercising on the jungle gym, at the playground, wherever. Maybe you associated it with a paleo approach. Along with a strong power yoga practice, I've been getting more and more into bodyweight exercise and calisthenics. I just learned the term, 'Street Workout" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_workou
t from reading another SPerson's page. I got excited learning about this and thought you might also be interested.

I hope the nutrition plan continues to work well for the both of you!

Ooooo, how I want to give you a broccoli picture present so that you would have a supply for tomorrow. There are no broccoli picture presents nor any leafy greens for that matter. Woe is me. Pretend that I have given you some pretend broccoli, please.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a message on my message board. I usually crave ice cream or something moist. I definitely will use your suggestion of blending frozen bananas and maybe adding some peanut butter, Im also gonna go out and buy some angel cake to help me along
