A multitude of small things is both the path to success and a recognition of the bad habits that have led to my weight gain. In the same philosophy as the Spark, I will take small positive steps and small corrective steps in order to build my new, healthy lifestyle.

I like running, but I don't really want to run a marathon or even a 10k... I'm more motivated to change my body by becoming really strong. Yeah, I want to be Wonder Woman!

YMCA NY; UTSG

I work 2 part time jobs with fluctuating schedules, and I'm trying to go back to school (UofT) as well. As you can imagine, the "time crunch" is my greatest demon/barrier/excuse when trying to live a healthy lifestyle. Time management will be an important factor in my path to success.

Mini Goals:

Go nordic skiing at least once this winter;

Deadlift the equivalent of my body weight;

Do a real chinup;

Drop down to a size 8;

Thanks for your input to my question on whether I should join the YMCA. I really appreciate you taking the time to do that, especially with all the detail you went into. I really like the part about the Y being a non-profit organization. I know that the Y in our area has a Soccer program for kids, and I'm pretty sure that it includes inner city kids, so it's a good reason to add another "pro" to the pros and cons list. Thanks again!

Thank you for your comment on my blog. It's a good idea to reevaluate what's working and what is not. I think a huge part of my struggle lately has been due to the holidays. If I just keep maintaining over the holidays, I think I'll be able to kick it back into gear come January.
