I love knitting, especially socks! This is my own pattern, which I'm really proud of.
Decided to play around with "my virtual model" some. When I realized I weighed 182 back in the winter, I thought "holy #?*! I need to lose 50 lbs!" So this is my "after" ideal of me at 132 lbs.
Edit: 1/10/11: A funny thing happened on the way to a healthier me. . .I fell in love. And, as love sometimes causes, I now have a whole new responsibility, or I should say, a whole new PERSON to take care of. D and I are expecting our first baby in August! It's all very exciting in a scary sort of way. So I'm back, this time not to lose weight (altho let's face it, that will come again in the fall, I'm sure), but to keep track of what I'm eating and make sure I'm doing the whole expectant mommy thing properly. Can't wait to watch the rest of this adventure unfold :)
As a child/teen, I was always very thin but not very fit (allergies "kept me" from being athletic). Went away to college, gained the ubiquitous freshman 15. One sedentary, miserable dead end job later I weighed in at a whopping 182 lbs.
That company closed, and I went to work in retail (I'm not utilizing my college degree much). Suddenly I was active and losing weight! Then I was introduced to Sparkpeople in June, 2010, and decided to give it a shot. I figured if nothing else, I could at least track the weight-loss that was already happening. Being here with like-minded people has changed my life, and I look forward anxiously to see what's going to change next!
*A "healthy" BMI
*To be able to call myself a runner, and have it be true.
*To look in the mirror and love who I see.
*To embrace life and hopefully find someone to share in my happiness and health.
*Trying to eat not only the right AMOUNT, but the right THINGS.
*Working a crazy physical job where I get paid to walk & lift heavy things
*Conditioning myself on a c25k type interval program-I want to be a runner!
*Lots and lots of agua.
*Not making anything "mandatory" OR "off limits"
I'm a small town girl with a simple life. find me as karlawithak on ravelry. I'm trained as an interior designer, so I love art, color, texture, etc. Right now I'm going through a phase with Picasso's sketches and his brilliant thoughts on art and life.
"Every child is an artist. The problem is staying an artist when you grow up." ~Picasso
"I am always doing things I can't do, that's how I get to do them." ~Picasso
"When I was a child, my mother said to me,'if you become a soldier you'll be a general. If you become a monk you'll end up as the Pope.' Instead, I became a painter and wound up as Picasso."
Nothing is impossible. "When you dream, dream big." ~Ryan Shupe
"Lord, Grant that we may find joy in the privilege of running.
Remind us on this day and through all of life that we never run alone. " ~"borrowed" from ChelleW. How inspiring is that??
