Hi, I'm Karla. I'm turning 50 this year-October 11. I'd like to give myself the "birthday gift" of "permanent weight loss" -- but I won't reach my goal until February 2014 if all goes as planned -- so the journey will be the gift.

I'm hoping SparkCoach will work for me. I am a born-again Christian and desire to serve Jesus. My two favorite pastimes are playing the piano and playing with dogs. I enjoy playing the piano for my church. I also am a vegetarian, I like to bowl, Zumba, walk, and strength train. I also love volleyball but have nowhere to play ... sniff. I am going to start very slow with this. After I complete the 10 minute challenge I will investigate other teams I would like to join.

Goals with a Deadline:

Goal #1 Lose 5 pounds before September 1, 2013.
Goal Attained: August 31, 2012 (220-214=6)

#2 Reduce potato chip eating by September 1, 2013.
(Goal too vague...not sure if attained.)

#3 Drink daily water bottle, plus 1 more glass each week.
Make habit by September 1, 2013.
Goal attained.

#4 Take stairs at work. Make habit by September 1, 2013.
Goal attained except for when have heavy computer.

General goals:

#1Faithfully complete all SparkCoach assignments each week.
(Not attained. Missed a day or two)
Goal reset today, 8-31-13.

#2 Eat vegetables daily.
Goal not attained. Reset 8-31-13.

#3 Walk more. Participate in more 5Ks.
(Goal attained. Not had 5K opportunities near me.)

#4 Add in more strength training each week.
(Not attained-hard to get my planned 2 x a week even)
