Karen's Journey to a Healthier ME!

Hi, my name is Karen. I am a return member to Spark. I am from Charlotte, NC. I have a wonderful husband and two adorable boys ages 8 and 9. I have to really work on staying motivated. It has been really hard for me. I start off really strong, but quickly sabotage myself and fall off the healthy lifestyles wagon. I am rereading "The Spark" to help get myself back on track. I CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!

My Goals:
I am starting out by doing the 10% plan. I feel that if I focus on smaller goals, then I will be more successful.

FAST TRACK:
1. Eat 2 fruits and veggies a day.

2. Get at least 10 minutes of cardio in a day.

3. Find motivational photos.

My Program:
Keeping a written journal of what I eat and how much water I drink. Getting used to my portion sizes.

Getting a kitchen scale to measure food portions.

Getting a pedometer to measure steps/miles walking in a day,

I live in Charlotte, NC. Originally from Montgomery County, MD, a suburb of Washington DC.

Love to read.

How great that the DH is working with you on the weight loss AND that your coworkers are involved, too. All great support for you. And, of course, you have US, too, to cheer your efforts.

To lose weight, change your attitude towards food. Too often we treat food as an award or consolation in times of need for comfort. Food is fuel for your body. Choose food packed with vitamins, fiber and other essential nutrients, not just calories. Stay on your Spark plan this weekend!

Hey! I just started Chapter 4 :) It is making so much sense..everything. I'm going to blog more about my thoughts this weekend.

When things calm down at the hubby's workplace we will have to walk or something.
