If it doesn't work this time, I think this is the way I'm meant to be ;) I have IBS, GERD and numerous other stomach problems, which make it hard to eat the healthy stuff like whole grains, fibrous veggies, etc. I've gained a lot of weight over the past couple of years, due to eating mostly all carbs because of my IBS. With the help of www.HelpforIBS.com and sparkpeople.com, I'm learning to eat a more balanced diet that has been IBS friendly, so far. I've been getting the fruits and veggies in and drinking SO much more water. I have cut my coffee consumption down to 2 cups a morning, 1/2 decaf/1/2 regular. NEVER drink coffee on an empty stomach or eat insoluble fibers on an empty stomach...trust me! Check out my Blog for IBS info on Soluble/Insoluble Fiber! Feel free to look at my food/exercise log (link at very bottom left of this page and also on the right) to see what I'm eating that has been GREAT for my IBS! **Measurements for food tracker when item only lists quantity by cups: 1/2 cup = .50 cup 1/3 cup = .33 cup 1/4 cup = .25 cup 2 tbl. = .125 cup 1 tbl. = .0625 cup **What constitutes a "serving" of fruit/vegetables: One fruit serving consists of: * 1 small to medium piece of fruit * 1 cup raw (cut-up) fruit * 1/2 cup (4 ounces) fruit juice * 1/4 cup dried fruit * 1/2 cup canned fruit * 1/2 of a banana One serving of vegetables consists of: * 1/2 cup cooked vegetables * 1 cup raw, leafy vegetables * 1/2 cup (4 ounces) vegetable juice From SP: One serving equals: 1 medium piece of fruit 1/2 cup fruit (raw, canned, or frozen) 1/2 cup cooked vegetables (canned or frozen) 1 cup raw vegetables 1/4 cup dried fruit 4-6 oz. of 100% juice (serving size depends on the type of juice) 1/2 cup cooked peas or beans

I just turned 42 and this is the year I want to get fit. I DO NOT want to be a fat old woman. We own an ice cream parlor, so I definitely don't want to be the fat, old, ice cream lady!!! I have 4 kids, ages 13-20 and one husband. ;)
