My Goals:
Lose 30 pounds by May 31, 2014 - still my goal

To reach this goal I will continue to track my food, eat healthy, and start incorporating 10-minute bursts of exercise in addition to my regular exercise

My Program:
- Karate class three times a week
- Gym for cardio and strength training twice a week
- Walking the dog and tending my garden - maybe these aren't calorie scorchers but good for the soul.

Personal Information:
I'm an RN and RPN (in Western Canada that's a psychiatric nurse), mother of two adult children, grandmother of a toddler, and guardian of a big dog (Marley) and a small cat (Rani). She came to us three years ago from the SPCA and she's taken over the rule of the house!

Other Information:
After getting my shodan black belt, my next goal is to obtain a Master's degree in Health Informatics. I'm almost through at the University of Victoria. It's hard but also a lot of fun.

Congratulations on the 5K. I ran my first continuous 5K today and I am PUMPED! Who knew that running would be in the cards as I approach 50? Your martial arts credentials are really impressive. WooHoo! on making your 5K goal!

Thank you for your kind replies and comments. I usually seem to post when I'm feeling discouraged, one of these days I'll post when I'm feeling empowered and it'll probably surprise folks emoticon
I go back and forth, sometimes several times a day, and my blues are never as long lasting as my 'highs'.
