Ready for a New Beginning
I am lucky enough not to need to lose weight due to any health problems. But I am currently watching my grandfather (Pappy, one of the most important people in my life) slowly die because of the choices he made in his life. He was severely overweight until about 4 years ago. He has had multiple heart surgeries because of his weight and right now his heart is giving up on him. He's only 67 years old. But I am currently watching my grandfather (Pappy, one of the most important people in my life) slowly die because of the choices he made in his life. He was severely overweight until about 4 years ago. He has had multiple heart surgeries because of his weight and right now his heart is giving up on him. He's only 67 years old. I DO NOT WANT THAT FOR MYSELF! He is my inspiration, my hope, and my driving force. I do not want him to die feeling as though I have learned nothing from his experiences. I have found that I REALLY LOVE to exercise. My problem is food. I love food. I love things that taste good. I love sweets. And I can get excessive. And while I do want to lose weight to save myself from Pappy's fate, I also want to know what it's like NOT to wear swim trunks and a tee shirt to go swimming. I want to look as good as I feel! I want to stop avoiding taking pictures that show more than just my face. I want to show myself (and of course other people as well) that I can do this. I am one of the most determined people I know. I am headstrong and proving people wrong is my favorite thing to do. I have a lot of support at home. My boyfriend is my rock and my new personal trainer =). He seems to really enjoy directing my workouts and he says that when I reach his weight, he'll start working out with me to help push me a little harder. But I need support and interaction with people like me who just want to be healthier and feel better too. I decided at the beginning of this year that 2012 was MINE! My year to work on myself and to get as close to the goals I've been putting off for the last 6 years. We'll see how it goes! Hoping for the best.

My Goals:
I want to be about 125 lbs. (or as close as I can get) by the beginning of December. That means I need to loose about 15 lbs per month. I am also trying to make sure that I drink 64 oz. of water every day and get at least 7 hours of sleep at night.
My Program:
My program right now consists of exercising for an hour a day (3 times a day, 20 minutes each, half cardio, half strength) and TRYING to stay around 1400 calories 6 days of the week.
