Recommiting in 2012!

My name is Kansas and I am a 33 year old mother of four. I live in Kentucky with my husband of 14 years and our sons: Lucas, Ethan, Nate, and Ross. A friend of mine stumbled upon Sparkpeople and suggested I join with her. So I did... and within the first 2 months we BOTH lost about 21lbs. Then we BOTH found out we were pregnant! My name is Kansas and I am a 33 year old mother of four. I live in Kentucky with my husband of 14 years and our sons: Lucas, Ethan, Nate, and Ross. A friend of mine stumbled upon Sparkpeople and suggested I join with her. So I did... and within the first 2 months we BOTH lost about 21lbs. Then we BOTH found out we were pregnant! When I first joined SP my starting weight was 193lbs... WAY off from my 155lbs I held steady at after having two kids. After I had my 3rd son and changed to a more sedentary work environment... I could NOT get the weight off. SO you can imagine my shock when I lost some weight and then ended up pregnant AGAIN!

I was MIA from SP for quite some time. I had a lot of different issues come up while I was pregnant with Ross (sciatica, gall bladder surgery, sprained ankle...) So even going for a walk was out of the question for most of those 9 months. Then after he was born in April of 2009 I had trouble getting back on the wagon. FINALLY in August, 09 I got back in the "spark" of things. I was at a record high weight of 197.6lbs! AND MISERABLE ABOUT IT!! From August to October I lost 25lbs - then off the wagon from Halloween until the first week of December. I gained back 6.4lbs of that weight. BUT I recommitted in December and dropped 5lbs of that weight! My final weigh in of 2009 was on 12/31/09 and I weighed in at 173.6lbs. My goal is to be down to 145lbs by summer of 2010 and maybe even get down to 140lbs when it is all said and done. (That's a more healthy weight for me according to the BMI calculator)
***2011 UPDATE*** I still haven't reached my final goal weight. My summer 2010 goal of didn't happen but I DID get down to 153lbs. That's the lowest number I've seen on the scale since before I had kids nearly 11 years ago! Have gained and lost and gained again several pounds since last summer. I am recommitting once again. As of today 1/12/11 I weigh 161lbs.
***2012 UPDATE*** I am STILL working toward that goal weight :) I was able to get down to 152 in the summer of 2011 - but fall and winter I fell "off the sparkwagon". I had gained 15lbs by December of 2011 so I recommitted again in January 2012! I would still love to reach my goal by the summer before I take my second trip to Haiti... but at this point I have learned that MAINTAINING is just as important as losing.

I have never had to battle with my weight before... so this has been quite a journey for me thus far. But thanks to SP I am tracking my calories and fitness minutes, making great friends, and loving every minute of it! Who would have thought that exercising and eating healthy would be this much FUN?

Yeah you are right, I usually rock out exercise when I am in the mood. I got in 5 days last week without a problem. But my eating is crazy. The last 2 days have been ok. Yesterday I was actually in my cals and today I went over by 77, but it's cool. I got in a good workout today too!

I am hoping it's just coming slowly....
