Fit for Life

I am Grateful for a full, rich and Blessed life!

My husband and I have been gifted with the presence of two beautiful grand-nieces and now a grand-nephew. Great incentive to stay healthy!

I started Spark in June of 2007 (at my sister’s suggestion), restarted a few times and finally became ‘serious’ two years later after receiving my before photo. I met goal weight in late December 2009 and as incentive and reward went to Barbados with friends. (It is so wonderful NOT ...

(It is so wonderful NOT having to try on bathing suits…)

I continued to lose weight, partially because I couldn’t figure how to reset the nutrition tracker, partly because I increased my exercise and partly because I was not yet comfortable with my body. I lost 10 more pounds over the next 3 months, for a total of 35 pounds and settled into my ‘home shape.’

I celebrated a year anniversary of my before picture 5/24/10. Since that time I’ve fluctuated a few pounds and maintained a healthy BMI of 19-20.

I’ve found great friends with amazing stories, drive, determination and accomplishments on this site, and am honored to share in their victories and setbacks however small or large.

My goal is to be “Fit for Life”, so while I remain committed to healthy eating and exercise, I’ve expanded my horizons to include meditation. I am thoroughly enjoying my new journey, my new friends and my new adventure into blogging.

I hope all who visit my spark page, will find this site as rewarding as I have.

Update 01.30.12: I am starting on a new fat loss and muscle gain journey and shedding 10 'holiday' pounds.

Thanks so much for commenting on my blog (Getting Unstuck #4).
Yes, the whole thing is interesting on several levels! I do know that the dance teacher that I was drawn to is a genius at understanding things and knowing what to do and say to help someone. The rapport with her has been worth it all.
Right now I think I need to make some choices in all my activities or I am going to get just too plain worn out.
I was interested in your blog where you talked about not feeling like you needed to be an athlete like ONEKIDSMOM. It made me realize that we can be healthy without being extreme.....more power to ONEKIDSMOM, but that is not for me. Part of me would like to be extreme with the dancing, but I really am just too worn out with other demands like what I consider strenuous yardwork and also strength training & cardio (training to walk 5ks with a friend who walks really fast) I feel I need to do. Also, I am teaching line dancing and my new dance teacher asked me to teach for her. That is also research & practice time and energy above and beyond everything else. So SOMETHING has to go!

I slept very well, in fact. WWIII goes on for so many days around here, you kind of get used to it. Or at least I do. Boomer the grand-dog is NOT a fan, and he lives over near Oak Lake and the ball park, so he gets a full week or two of the stuff.

How about you? Get good sleep? You are practically at ground zero. My neighbors are NUTS with this stuff, and judging from what I can see from my house in your direction, yours are, too. emoticon
