I guess I was lucky - my regular dr's office hired a woman's care specialist dr, and she was wonderful! Was only there a few years, moved to TX, but the next woman dr had a different specialty - so she just kept me on the Ogen, no problem.
Keep looking - and if there's either a planned parenthood or women's shelter in your area, maybe call and see if they recommend anyone in particular? Dr sympathetic to women's health?
Can I recommend you find a woman doctor who specializes in women's health? Not necessarily an OB/Gyn, but just women's over all health. Makes a HUGE difference. I've had men doctors tell me for years that my horrible cramps were due to me not wanting to be a woman, not grow up, bullsh8t bullsh8t. Turned out I had severe endometriosis and external fibroids. Similar response from male drs for different situations. I've given up on men doctors and only see women docs if I can!
Also, I found that certain meds (like certain antibiotics) trigger hot flashes for a long time afterwards - so if you took Zithromax recently, that'll do it!
