Trekking in Alaska

I'm a Christian housewife in the frozen arctic of Alaska. Loving every minute of it, but hard to workout with the cold. I struggle with consistency, but am determined to get to a healthy weight and be a good example to my husband and daughter.

Personal Information:
Living in Alaska can be a challenge at times. The darkness and extreme cold in the winter don't encourage working out, but the long, warm summer days do. Videos and workout equipment help me get in shape for the hikes, walks, and kayaking during the summer.

Thanks for the tea. I am warm, but still not moving like I need to be doing. Johnny returns to work next week and that will help when we get back to a normal routine.

Glad your winter is warm for you. I would be in the parka all the time! LOL Hugs.

I too am struggling to find the time to exercise or frankly the motivation to exercise. I have done pretty well with my nutritional choices. I have not had a candy bar or cake or any of those type sweets since Christmas and then I only had a 1/2 a cookie that I split with my grand-daughter. I am just not getting any exercise at all. I am actually quite sedentary. My husband has had two strokes in the last year and so he is not very active anymore so it is difficult to motivate myself.

You will get there. Every journey begins with just one step. I am not only NOT losing weight but am up almost 20 lbs. I have to make changes. I am beginning to suffer physical ramifications due to excess weight. (i.e. back and leg problems, walking, laying, sitting are all uncomfortable). I will be your cheerleader if you will be mine. I will check in on you and how you are doing on your 5 goals if you will check in on me and mine. Do we have a deal?
