I'm swimming at the pool at the Regent Grand in Turks and Caicos!

I named this photo "Happy Kelly" -- the beach agrees with me!

Keeping Fit and Healthy

I'm here on Spark to continue and enrich my healthy lifestyle. I don't need to be the fittest or the thinnest, but I do want to be healthy! My main goals are to eat well (fruits and veggies, fiber, and less dessert) and exercise regularly. I'm 5'8" and have a healthy BMI. I have to eat gluten free because I have celiac disease.

I love the gym -- I never thought I'd say that! I take classes, which keeps me motivated. I aim for ~1000 fitness minutes every month. I try not to put too ...

Thanks I'm really glad its over, but really excited to see what this change will be like now with less pressure to comply and just live. I'm really looking forward to continuing making all of our meals for the most part. It was difficult to make meals with our schedules, but we got to eat, right? Knowing whats all in your food is a pretty cool feeling as well as the feeling of accomplishment from making your all meals. Its been exhausting and our kitchen is trashed (no dishwasher and our sink was down all last weekend!!) but we do feel closer. Food is more enjoyable because of the work that's put into it and the closeness that's created while cooking is nice too. I didn't really grow up with the whole family meal thing and it was something that was lacking in my own now.. my husband and I have a bad habit of food in bed.. I think I will reintroduce all of the food groups back into my life, but I also plan on maintaining the loss from this experience. I'm really looking forward to coffee with real cream and vanilla syrup, sushi and chicken tacos with corn tortillas topped with black beans & corn salsa.. and WINE. That's what I'm planning on having tomorrow on my first free day. Doesn't sound bad at all, sounds pretty amazing actually and for the most part good for me.

And legumes is due to just seeing if you might have adverse effects from eating them, but might not realize. I really miss hummus and black beans and corn tortillas, I'll have them again someday..

Its been pretty amazing for self control! Tonight we had Italian seasoned chicken with roasted cauliflower and pineapple. I think the main reason for the elimination of grains ...
