This is SPARTA!

This summer is going to be spent working on my diet and starting training for the 10k in September. So far the diet is slowly mutating into something healthy. Let's see if I can keep it up! The going is slow with running right now as I try to figure out a good schedule to adhere to.

Winter Accomplishments:
Broke through the 180s into the 170s. Yay! Gaining lots of muscle in my arms, thighs, and abs. Reached most of my measurement goals. Ran my third 5k in 35:24 minutes. New PR!

My Goals:
My goals are to reach 170 lbs before the end of this year, get rid of my buttcrack belly, and have muscle.

My Program:
CARDIO: 30-40 min (M-F)
Gym classes and misc gym equipment to keep things interesting

STRENGTH TRAINING: 20-30 min (M-F)
ActivTrax at my gym gives me a varied workout every session, trading off on Upper and Lower Body every other day and Core every day

Personal Information:
I'm a 30-year-old mother with a 3-year-old son. He's my life and my happiness. My husband is a molecular biologist. How proud am I! My dream is to live in Hawaii but I know that's never going to happen so I'll continue with hula and daydream about it.

Other Information:
I'm a high-yellow belt in taekwon-do. I'd be higher but various reasons got in the way and made me stop. I love dancing for exercise so I have a bunch of dvds for that like hula, belly dancing, and hip hop. I also enjoy Jillian Michael's DVDs but they seriously kick my butt so I limit my time with them.

Ha ha! I know that walk. It's so funny! He looks at himself like that, too. Except afterward, he giggles and runs away. Or plays in it. Ah, the joys of mommyhood. :D

My ticker is misleading. I'm the same weight I was two weeks after giving birth. No matter how hard I work or what I change, I stay at the same weight. It's really pissing me off. But a thyroid problem is a thyroid problem, and I'm doing my best to accept that some things are out of my control. Grrr. ;)

Congratulations on all the success you've had! I'm really excited for you, reading all about your foray into fitness leadership. That's awesome! :D I'm looking forward to reading more about it!
