Im going to lose 30lbs ASAP!

Hello, im Jo, im currently weighing in at 165lbs and am 5'5 tall. I was recommended to this site after a freind who lost a substansial amount of weight told me where the best advice was! I want to lost weight for my health and because im now 27 and dont want to be fat for the rest of my life. Also, im planning to celebrate my weight loss with a rather large tattoo that ive designed and wanted for a long time, and told myself when I hit 135lbs then I will allow myself to do it!

My Goals:
I want to lose 30lbs, and design my own tattoo to celebrate. I also want to run a 5k, compete in a super sprint triathlon, and go to a gym regularly.

My Program:
Ive taken up jogging, and plan to build in some swimming and boxing soon.. I have reduced my calorie intake to 1200 per day (was previously eating 2500!! eek!) and am including more fresh vegetables etc. I would also like to drink more water. Ive now added in walking to work every day which is almost 3 miles and hope to reduce the time it takes me by 5 mins a week over the next 3 weeks.

Personal Information:
IM Jo, im 27 and live in Bristol, UK. I started at 165lbs, and am aiming to get to around 135lbs before the summer.

Other Information:
I have a cat and a naturally skinny boyfriend who is a musician, i have two tropical fish tanks and love photography, tattoo's, sims2, and relaxing! Im a lazy sofa ass by nature!

JW1096's - How long have you been a SparkPeople Member! You have done tremendously well. Thanks for your words of encouragment on my SparkPage! You are about at my goal weight for June 15th. By August I would like to be 135 to 140. I am just starting to run now! I have been walking (briskly) for about 5 - 6 miles and I am starting to add a couple of jogs here and there. Hopefully by the end of this journey I will be able to jog the whole 5 miles.!

Follow up: I posted on my LiveJournal about beginning to bicycle commute and got some excellent advice/tips, including from one gentleman, johnridley, who has been bicycle commuting every single day, rain snow and shine in Michigan for years. His trip is fifteen miles one way. He particularly had some good equipment/gear recommendations. See: http://pegkerr.livejournal.com/794289.html

My goal weight is the same, 135 pounds. Don't know if it's realistic or I'll make it (I'm a little taller than you) but adding the bike riding will hopefully bust me off this plateau (I've been stuck around 145 for several months. I started at 165). I like your idea of giving myself the tattoo as a reward for reaching goal weight--although I'm not entirely sure I'll have the courage to do it!

Anyway, I'll see you around the cycling community.

Hey if you want to get the models go to mvm.com and you can create before and after ones and then save them to your comp and upload to your sparkpage.I saw you asking on one of the other sparkpages,Hope that helps.....Shelley
