Hi! I'm Rachel, 35, mom & wife. I joined Spark 2 years ago and lost 50lbs!! AWESOME! I then backed off, I think in my mind, hitting a big milestone like that gave me an excuse to take a break. I also put in all new gardens, and was in physical pain for more than a week, which led to sporadic exercise. I did manage to maintain for about a year and a half, with regular exercise. Then... last fall I guess I just took a bad turn, I've put back on about 30 of those 50lbs I had lost. I'm very unhappy, and ready to do this again... and this time I won't stop until I reach my goal!
I'm doing great with working out... but the eating habits do take time. I'm trying. I'm trying harder all the time, so it's improvement. My biggest issue is that I'm just not losing weight... I've been back to working out for about 3 weeks now, and still staying at around 280.
It's upsetting because the first time around, the weight literally fell off of me. Something like 7lbs the first week, then steadily dropped every week after. I lost 50lbs between Jan17th and mid-May of 2010. So, while I am very disappointed so far, I'm NOT discouraged. I am stepping up my workouts, every day now, not just every other day... and I'm working on my eating habits.
I find that I will have a really good day, workout, eat right... track every bite... and then it all falls apart. Either hubby leaves to work nights and I snack all night... or I just convince myself " oh it's ok, I had a good day!" Well, that's no reason to ruin it!
The key to my success last time was being completely honest with myself. I accounted for every bite, every sip and weighed everything. My scale is back on the counter, front & center, and I am learning to use it again! Ok, that's enough for now.... I am excited to go explore the site again... meet new people!
