Hi! Lyle, Thought I would check in, walked yesterday with the kids for 1 hr, I have a slow walker so not sure how much burned in calories but definitely got tired! Felt pretty good afterward. It's hard to power walk with kids. But was a Good day! 51 days ago
Just got back from visiting family in Ind., nice to not have to line up someone to do "chores", just have to worry about all the flowers the GLBH has too water. Glad you are letting the neighbor use the pasture for hay, doesn't it smell good? If he square bales it offer your help on a rack, much fun. P S, wear leather gloves. 😀 58 days ago
Okay, I'm just coming out of my shock of you mentioning you don't have any livestock, not even a dog. gasp, (meekly asking) a cat?
I'm trying to get my hands on some started pullets and yesterday was able to meet my neighbor northwest of me and he has some cattle. He said he hates to see my land go to waste. I did just move here. lol Apparently I'm not allowed to get a lay of the land, I need farm animals now. Or better yet, I should have brought them with me when I moved in.
But this cattle farmer sure does have a lot of nice toys! He said they're expensive and I responded, yes, that's why you have them and I don't. He was able to cut the hay yesterday and it's in pretty rows.
Nice hearing from you. Yes, let's hope you can make a profit with the crops. I'm staying busy editing books, manuals, and other things, and continue to fight worsening back problems. But I still get around on two feet. -- Lou 62 days ago
Soybeans look good for being no-till. Planter did not go fully into ground on 3 acres, replanted them yesterday. Now all we need is prices to go higher, no room for error on profit margin. Farming is so much fun. 😀 63 days ago
