Figuring it out...

I've been collecting weight since I hit puberty. Like many, I've tried everything. I think I'm finally on the right track.

So what's my deal? I'm 50, single, and content except for that pesky weight issue. I was down to 148 pounds 19 years ago, and it felt great! That was the last time my BMI was not in the overweight catagory.

My Goals:
Get my habits and body in line with who I am in my head.

My Program:
I've moved on from the usual boring "effective" and "healthy" diet after reading a couple studies which lined up with my past experience. The first talked about eating only the calories of your target weight. Yeah the weight comes off... after 3 years! The first half the 1st year. Depressing. The second study lined up with my past successful weight loss efforst. That is eat normal most days but 2 to every other day eat very little ( less than 750 kcal). Never two days in a row,. This keeps your body from going into starve mode and the weight actually comes off without plateaus. I've been doing this 2 days a week since August and I'm down 23 pounds as of 12-1. Woo hoo!

Personal Information:
I'm 49 years old and originally from Seattle. I now live in Salt Lake City. I'm single and content that way. I love to ski and even just look at the mountains here. I do art (painting, drawing, mosaic work) in my spare time.
