Hi, I'm Julie. I'm 38 years old, happily married, and mother to 4 great kids. I'm 6'1" tall, and tired of being referred to as "big". Hi, I'm Julie. I'm 38 years old, happily married, and mother to 4 great kids. I'm 6'1" tall, and tired of being referred to as "big". I've just started on SparkPeople, and I've found that it will be a great tool in boosting my self-discipline. For the past couple of years, I've been about 85% vegetarian (lacto-ovo), but after tracking my nutrition on SP I'm finding that what I thought were good eating habits are really sabotaging my weight loss! Some days I wasn't eating enough calories, which came as a huge shock to me since I haven't lost any weight. I've been stuck at or around my current weight for a while now, and learning new habits is what I need to get out of my rut. As of today I weigh 238, and my BMI is 31.5-- obese. My goal is to get back down to 150-160, where I felt my best.

I love yoga and the serenity that comes with it. I also like walking, interval training (walk/jog), and I'm willing to do strength training with weights. My biggest problem is not holding myself accountable for staying on track. That's where SP comes in-- I'm hoping to stay involved on-line, track my progress, and make some new friends that have either been where I am now, or are looking to make the journey with me.
