Stay Strong
I started getting heavy at 40. I got breast cancer and I did what I needed to do. I quit smoking. 20 pounds plus there. The chemo, for some reason made me gain weight and not lose weight. I added another 20 pounds I would say. The weight just stayed on and then I added to it. I think I hurt myself because I have always skipped meals. I never fed my metabolism. I have always been a pretty healthy eater when it comes to food choices. In fact I have to force myself to eat... and snacks...I have to remember to snack. I have now added another problem, menopause. I have been in menopause for almost 3 years and it has made it doubly difficult to lose weight. Sometimes I feel like I am fighting a loosing battle. What keeps me going is that I want to be small again. End of story. Skinny and healthy as hell. I want to look in the mirror and say "Damn Girl, you are looking good." I try to constantly to think about everything I am putting in my mouth. I exercise everyday except Sunday. Sunday is my day of rest...for everything. No exercise, except walking my dogs. If I am gonna have a splurge day, it's Sunday. Maybe an Ice Cream Cone ( I usually get frozen yogurt) but it's still good. My favorite is having a Frozen New York Peppermint Paddy. Yum, Yum!!
