Julie's Journey

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my Spark page.

I've just passed my two year Sparkaversary here and Spark People has really changed my life. When I started, I was 230 pounds down from my all time high of 236. I lost 6 pounds on my own before joining SP on 1/3/11. I lost 50 pounds by August 2011, just in time for my sister's wedding. My all time low was 180.4 in March 2012.

I was about 185 for a year and just could not lose. I have to admit that even though I was ...

I have to admit that even though I was exercising a lot, I wasn't eating as well as I could. I still watched my calories and ate tons of veggies but it just was not enough. And then over the Christmas holidays 2012, I gained 10 pounds due to zero exercise and pigging out for a month.

So here I am in January 2013 at 201 pounds. The BLC starts in 2 days and I'm a co-captain. I'm determined to get back to the gym and my healthy eating plan. I have a new FitBit and I love it! So here's to a great and successful 2013!!

My Program:
I've always been a big water drinker, so I'm easily drinking 8-12 glasses of water a day.

I joined a gym where I can do the elliptical and use their weight machines. When at home, I walk with Leslie Sansone videos.

I'm also tracking what I eat and severely limiting my alcohol. I'm trying to eat plenty of protein and limit carbs (but not doing low carb or anything) but it's hard!

Personal Information:
I live in Milpitas, CA which is a suburb of San Jose (Silicon Valley, Northern California).

I have a husband, Bill, and 2 kids (Jeremy is 13 and Jenny is 11).

I'm a technical writer. I am the president of the Berryessa And Milpitas (BAM) National Junior Basketball (NJB) league.

Hey there missing in action Julie, emoticon

Thanks for stopping by my page! I have missed talking to you and hearing all your adventures! emoticon I am happy everything is working out and you are happy where you are and being very productive! Kudos to you! I know what you mean about the tracking and weight loss. It takes two weeks of hard work to lose two pounds and two days to regain it and the tracking thing is difficult and sometimes just impossible in my opinion. But we must keep trying so we can get on top of that darn mountain! Keep climbing Julie, if not for the "perfect" weight then for the health and fitness benefits, like being able to outrun your husband, son, or daughter and the look of astonishment that is on their face when you do it! emoticon

Ooohhh... I didn't know:-( I'm so sorry to hear that... But on the positive side, as you say, you get to enjoy more time with the kids and doing things you don't usually get to do when working.
I have joined the Azure leadership crew for next round and I'm looking forward to that:)
What teams have you asked for then?

Julie,
Checking in to see how you are doing in California. I bet you are having so much fun. How is the break going for you? I am trying to make it work but my weight is bouncing up and down like a ball! Take care of yourself and keep walking and exercising! emoticon

BEAUTIFUL WOMAN AWARD

Hi! Just a shout out to congratulate you!

You are the recipient of the Beautiful Woman Award!!

"Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the page of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out!"

Again, Congratulations Beautiful!

Thanks for spreading a little beauty, love, friendship, and support into my life!
