Hi everyone, I'm Julissa, but my friends call me Julie. I am 20 years old and live in NJ. I love fashion, make up, car racing, bowling, beaches and boardwalks, baseball, soccer, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family, my boyfriend Leo, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Twilight. Lol! Okay now here is my story..

I starting getting heavy since the 5th grade, but it didn't take a toll on me emotionally until I was entering high school. I can't say I was teased because I had a lot of friends and boys did like me. Although I wasn't teased at school my two slender older sisters always made me feel like a house. They teased me constantly. So I didn't feel comfortable in my own skin. I am 5'6 and at my highest weight I was 215 lbs. Towards my junior year of high school I started to take my weight a bit more seriously. I began to eat healthier foods and smaller portions and of course drink water, water and more water. I got down to 159 lbs. and I was proud of my self. I thought I had everything under control. I was wrong. I started to eat unhealthy again and lost my drive. I shot back up to 196 lbs., and it hit me hard. In Feb. 2007, my senior year in high school, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. It really changed my life and my view of things. My mom thankfully has been 2 years cancer free. If I wanted to loose weight before, now it was crucial. I need and want to be healthy. I have to take care of my body, and if I was going to start dieting again I would have to really change my mind set and make it a permanent thing. I am currently 170 lbs. and my goal is to get to 140 lbs. or 135. I found spark people on youtube and I really enjoy what its all about, i have all the tools i need here to be successful in my weight loss. I am really confident I can do it with the support of my family, my boyfriend, my friends and of course SparkPeople. "Never give up, Never surrender"!!!

UPDATE: 7-20-09 I have lost 25 lbs. since I have started with SP. Close to my goal weight.. But still working hard. I am currently at 156.6 and I am definitely ready to go lower!

My Program:
Eat a healthy breakfast, workout on the treadmill to burn at least 230 cal. Eat fruit and veggies, and chicken and fish. I also am only drinking water.
