I'm just trying to get back in shape after some meds messed up my metabolism!
I weaned off Cymbalta a few years ago, and within a week I couldn't zip my jeans. It took about 3 months for it to plateau, and I gained a total of 40 lbs., leading to a total of almost 200 lbs. at my highest. (Before the gain I weighed approximately 160, though I would like to get back to at least my wedding weight of 150, or even 140!)
The sudden gain was all due to the effect of the lack of serotonin in my body slowing my metabolism, as my eating habits had not changed at all.
I'm also a writing & editing consultant and social media manager/moderator. I work from home, and sit at my desk or on my couch for way too long!
- 8 glasses of water a day
- Exercise at least 30-60 minutes a day
- Consume 25 grams of fiber per day
My husband got us a Wii Fit for Christmas (2008), and I am having a blast using that to get into a regular fitness routine, in addition to other exercises. Also got EA Active Sports for my birthday (Aug. 2009). Now have Just Dance (Feb. 2010) and getting Walk It Out any day now (March 2010).

This month I created new recipe threads by category on the team, so please post your recipes! Please put chicken recipes and all poultry (pheasant, turkey, quail, cornish hen, duck etc) on the chicken thread, soup stews chili and chowder etc on the soup thread, beef recipes on the beef thread, and so on. There are also diabetic, kid-friendly, vegetarian, and more located in the General Discussion section on the team page. Also a Weight Watcher's thread - I stocked it with recipes out of SparkRecipes, and some of those looked really, really good.
If you need a new recipe to try from a completely different source, click on the thread called "Linked Crockpot Recipe Websites" located at the top of team page.

OK Julia, I am challenging you to do the Memorial/Hermann Sugar Land Triathlon. It is a 300 meter swim, 10 mile bike, and 3 mile run. No, we won't look good or win or anything. Let's just see if we can finish it! We will both be winners just for that.
