Got myself a virtual model! Boy, and it's still a bit idealized. Scary what chocolate can do to you.
I do smile sometimes! Just not when I'm nervous because there are scary things around. Like cameras.

...or: this is not my first try.
Sounds familiar? I guess that so will some of this:.
I've tried to loose weight since I was 15, I positively hated sports at school (ball games for 9 years, no stretching ever, hideous warm-ups), and I have an evil tendency to start, but not keep life-style changes.
A note on the picture: My brother sneaked up on me and took that picture years ago, and it's pretty much the only one I have of me. A few months ago a really nice visitor from the US managed to convince me to hold still for a picture, but I didn't show up on it - apparently, disdain for cameras can substitute for vampirism. I still have a reflection, though I may not always like it.
190 lbs: 500 Gigabite hard disc for my computer
180 lbs & DM test: contact lenses
170 lbs: new pair of boots
160 lbs: new Terry Pratchett book!
Not sure about the last two goals. I'll probably need some new clothing by then.
Weight loss is just one of my goals - I need to finish some studies, get more organized... I hope that what I learn about motivation and setting goals here will help me with other goals, too.
I'm not aiming at the so-called ideal female weight, about 140 lbs will be just fine for me. Mostly I want to _feel_ healthy, energized and fit, able to be up and about for 14 hours, to bike up-hill and to take three flights of stairs without huffing.
oking nice is important, too - as sad as it is, a lot of people tread you differently when you look slim and fit, and you can't always avoid them.
I've done well with swimming and hope to take it up again in future. Right now buying an ET really, really pays off: I'm doing 1 hour daily minimum, often more.
In addition I use the food tracker and try to keep my calorie range, do 20 minutes strenght training/day and drink 8 cups of water. At the moment I'm doing well with all of that. As soon as all that turns into habits and life style, there's not much left to stop me!
I love everything that doesn't burn off calories: surfing the web, reading, crafting (**loving look at my spinning wheel**), and reading some more. Not good! The only thing on my hobby list that gets me some exercise is working in the garden.
I love to learn: math, chemistry, natural sciences, history, languages, crafts, fonts, alchemy, programming... so of course I start ten times as many things as I can hope to finish. You can see the problem right there, can't you?
I love and adore Professor J.R.R. Tolkien and his works (especially Tenwar!), and every movie or story with an interesting, intelligent, brooding villian has a good chance of hooking me.
