Happy and Healthy in 2011!

Hi. My name is Julie. I am a wife and mother to two girls aged 7&9. We live in Vermont and lead a healthy active lifestyle together.

I lost 40 lbs a few years ago and have kept all of it off but a pesky 10 lbs. I love exercising, running, zumba, walks with my dog, XC skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, paddling, etc! But FOOD! FOOD continues to vex me, I persist in overindulging in the dumbest of things. However, I keep working at it.

2011 begins my second year ...

2011 begins my second year on SparkPeople, a place I have come to rely on for tracking tools and community support. This year, I hope to be more supportive of others while working toward my own goals.

This year, I hope to run two half-marathons. I've already run one in April and hopefully then the Leaf Peepers in October.

Meanwhile I hope to find someplace peaceful within myself that will allow me to do the things that make me happy and healthy.

Personal Information:
I am my own worst critic. I have super high expectations for myself. I do more than I need to while sometimes feeling like I'm getting nothing done! Feeling and looking fit is really important to me.
I want to live a long healthy life; I had kids late in life and I want to be active while they are!

Other Information:
I am active year round and a stay-at-home mom but looking to get back to work this year. I live in VT where there's always something to do to get active outdoors, but sometimes it takes extra motivation to deal with the extreme cold.

I teach at Killington. There are indeed many cold days ahead, but I have too much fun to care!

Wondered how your visit went today. The housecleaning is a good way to get in some cardio. I'm sure everybody cleans differently, but if you're a mom, chances are you're burning lots of calories by cleaning all the things you need to clean with kids around.

Sorry you're feeling down about exercising. It will work its way into your schedule!
