The journey begins.....

Cliche to start this at the first of the year however there is no time like the present! I need to do this and want to do this. I am tired of my back and knees hurting and looking totally forgetable. I refuse to buy jeans any larger. I don't want to look like something they should harpoon off the cruise ship. I know I won't reach my goal weight by the time we sail but to be able to wear something smaller and cute would be awesome!!! So it begins my journey to a happier, healthier more fabulous ...

Saw and appreciated your huddle comment that you started to jog today and it didn't kill you! I can walk a mean streak but have not yet taken the leap to jogging. Nevertheless, I am planning to run my first 5K in April so the jog/run is just around the corner. Have an awesome time and exercise smart to avoid injury.

I was 54 when I joined SparkPeople and 56 when I came back and started my Spark Program, starting with Stage One. This is a one day at a time program, but if you do the SparkPeople Program Steps, it really does work. I am terribly average, it's the SP program that is extraordinary.

I found logging my foods in the Nutrition Tracker helped me to lose 90 lbs in 16 months! I started at 210 and went to 120.

I hung clothing that was too small on my closet door and every time I would get discouraged I would try them on. Week by week they started fitting! That kept me motivated.

Welcome aboard, we really are all in the same boat! Sometimes we can sail right along but sometimes we have to be rowing like crazy!

You can make it happen! SparkPeople really does work!
