My goals here are to achieve optimum health through a mostly raw foods lifestyle. 80% calories from fruit carbs, 10% protein from veggies, and 10% fat from all of the above. Also want to incorporate a good exercise plan.
My goal is to become healthy in the true sense of the word, not just the absence of disease, but being vibrant, full of life, and living every moment! I want to get more physical again. I was training for a marathon when I hurt my knee and have been a couch potato ever since! I want to run a marathon. I want to feel excited about everything in life, and have the ability an desire to participate 100%!!!
I am doing a mostly raw food program. I say mostly raw to make room for my steamed broccoli, cabbage, quinoa, and baked sweet potatoes ... not ready to give those up yet. As far as exercise is concerned, honestly its been so long I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I figured I should start out slow with some calisthenics first ... floor exercises, ab work, squats, etc. I am concerned about losing weight. I do not want to lose. I need to build muscle. So I know that I need to include weight training somewhere along the way. And most importantly I need to drink more water! I don't know why this has always been like pulling teeth for me, but I'm determined to drink close to a gallon a day! Dehydration mimics illness.

Nothing worth having has ever been achieved without sacrifice and pain! Its the sacrifice and pain that gives it value.
My favorite books are the Quran and anything that is related to holistic health. I love motivational speakers such as Tony Robbins. I love helping other people. And I am now realizing that I need to help myself first and foremost!

Hey, welcome to SparkPeople! I'm not actually doing raw primal, but I've dabbled in raw food. I'll definitely make raw pies and "granola," and salads of course, but I like meat too much to go completely raw. I think I could do it, given that I like sushi and steak tartare, but until I can afford the exceptionally good kinds of meat that you can safely consume raw, I won't go there. However, I do HATE overcooked food!

I like to crochet practically anything. It relaxes me to have a crochet hook and yarn in my hands (plus, it keeps me from reaching for food)! I've made throws, hats, scarves, doilies, little bowls, a poncho for my daughter, purses, etc. Right now, I'm working on a lanyard to carry my keys on when I'm walking and a table runner, both out of thread. I love working with thread and cotton yarn. I'd like to try making some socks, but I quit partway through my first one, and I don't know if I can start up again - may have to tear it out and start over!
