Goal: to lose last 15# at 68

My name is Judy and I work as a geriatric charge nurse. I just turned 68 on January 29th. About 17 years ago I lost 40#, but I have never been able to keep off the last 35#. I lose 10# or so and then I lose interest or gain it back. With the help of Spark People support, I was able to lose 35# this last 3 years and keep it off. I have been able to stick to an exercise program. I am motivated to continue working on maintaining my healthy lifestyle. At this point, I am able to get exercise ...

I hope this will change after I get a knee replacement next month.

To lose 30# and make exercise part of my daily life.

My Program:
Eating smaller portions and doing at least 30 minutes of exercise daily.

Personal Information:
I was born in Wisconsin but moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2000. I love the weather here in Walla Walla and consider myself a Washingtonian. I have been married for 45 years and have three grown children and two dachshunds.

Other Information:
I love to travel, being outdoors, and gardening. I enjoy walking and biking. These activities were put on the back burner when I had a knee replacement two years ago and now need another one to my other knee. I have a rare autoimmune disorder called localized scleraderma or morphea, which does cause some pain in my joints. I also love sewing, knitting, crocheting, scrap booking, cross stitching, and quilting.

Hi Judy....
Just checking in to see how your surgery went and how the rehab is going. I've had a very hard winter: weather-wise and health-wise. Haven't been too active on Sparks. Right now I'm fighting a relapse of the flu (which I had 2 weeks ago.....). I thought it was gone....but ---surprise!!!!!

Oh well. I'll survive. I truly hope you are up and around and feeling great. Stay in touch.....

Big hugs. Libby

Thanks for your concern and "good thoughts" Judy! While I'm about it, I just want you to know I think nurses are the BEST people around.

Judy, thank you for the map (I hope I figure out where I'm going soon!) How is your daughter? I think of you often and hope your life is going well and health issues are minor. So thankful for all your advice over the time here on Spark.
