I have always been a person that dove into things taking big leaps, but over the years as I look back I never finish.
Now I am taking small steps they make a difference.I am really really learning that small steps make such a big difference. Helen Keller said ," I long to accomplish a great & noble task but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great & noble.

My Goals:
my goal is one " to stay steady the course ".

My Program:
my program is to finish the walk I started out on,not quit halfway thru even if I set a goal for the day of a 15 minute walk ,or to work out on the machines I will finish it. However my program will no longer be of 5 mile walks and beat my self up if I do not finish I will no longer look at the 12 machines & feel like a failure if I do not finish them all. I will swim perhaps 1/2 hr instead of 1 hour.I will no longer bash myself because lack thereof time I should be putting in.

Personal Information:
I am 66 retired ,married to a wonderful husband no children ( not by choice ) We live in North Eastern Pa.I married at the age of 34 for I never wanted to marry. Then I met my husband he had all the qualities in a man I was looking for.He was worth the wait!!

Other Information:
My camera usually goes where I go. I also make cards out of pictures I take. Love history, Love to walk in the rain & like cloudy days they are mysterious to me. Love to camp,go boating.I would rather watch black & white tv rather than color.Love any museums,Love to explore small towns they have lots of history. I love talking to the elderly as they are full of wisdom I love the stories they tell of their life. I buy old letters from the 1800's on up & love reading what it was like back then in their life. I collect old postcards also.

Hi Judy! Yes Icelandic is a very unusual language. Most people spoke English, but of course the city buses were in their local language. Re trees: Our guide talked about efforts to replant trees in Iceland. Apparently, after the Ice Age, only about 20-40% of the country was left with forest, and the diversity of trees was limited. When humans immigrated to the land, farmers cleared off the forests to plant crops, and wood was also used to build homes and ships. The landscape was completely denuded. Major efforts are underway to replant forests, but it is slow because the growing season is very short in the extreme north!

Alcohlism Judy, is a FAMILY disease....you and any other family members, including friends, are all affected by this horrendous disease of a love one. What is suggested and I did do it and still do occasionally, is getting my butt to Alanon Meetings that helped and changed my life. It was the most sane thing did and I suggest you do it as well. Although I am a member of Alcoholic Anonymous, Alanon provided me the love and education that changed my life for the better, so sooooooooooooooooo much better. I learned how NOT to get involved, to detach myself from the Alcoholic or any other persons or people who have succumbed to this horrendous disease. I have a lot of Alcoholism in my family, mostly High Functional Alcoholics....People that seemingly have a life though do drink every night and just live like that......so they do have the the numbing of not feeling the feelings and not had how to cope with things that we all do sober people have. Please consider doing this, hitting a meeting and finding one that you feel comfortable going....hugs dear Judy and if you run into trouble in the meantime, you can always reach me for help.....415 999-....... Much love, fredie ( I will spark mail you my cell number.)
