My name is Judy I retired this February. I was flip flopping back & forth with my weight for too long. In Jan. of this year I started to be a MINDFUL eater. When I go out to a restaurant ( which is not too often ) I go on line to read their menu & pick out from home what I want. That way I already know what I will have as if I did not I would be prone perhaps to order unhealthy. If I go to a buffet before even picking up the plate I walk the buffet twice then I pick out my grilled meat chicken & fish or if not grilled will get chicken take the skin off & breading so I have some protein. Then the rest of my plate is filled with all kinds of vegetables, plus a ;large salad with no dressing on it as I would not be able to taste the vegetable in it's crispy form. I use to smother my salad with dressing, then there is a;ways plenty of fruit . I always order water no sugared drinks !!! I am also & still can not believe my attitude change on working out. I walk 2 to 4 miles a day, swim 3 times a week for an hour straight, then Zumba twice a week. I almost lost my hand due to an accident. So I have changed in my thinking so much about life. I try to be a MINDFUL eater & MINDFUL in my exercise !!!

My Goals:
Not setting a time or date in which to be a certain weight. I will not fixate on that any more. I will take every single day ( 24 hours ) & get through the day with my goals met.


My Program:
Swim 3 times a week for an hour straight, zumba twice a week, & walking 2 to 4 miles a day



Personal Information:
I am now retired at 65 not by choice,but due to an injury wanted to retire 07/14/2017.Have no children not by choice . Married to a fantastic husband. Did not get married until I was 34. Never wanted to because marriage to me is forever, my parents divorced & so many other family & friends are divorced so I thought NOT ME , BUT I met my husband & he had all 7 qualities I was looking for. I worked in a pharmacy ( 27) years.


Other Information:
My camera usually goes where I go. I also make cards out of pictures I take. Love history, Love to walk in the rain & like cloudy days they are mysterious to me. Love to camp,go boating.I would rather watch black & white tv rather than color.Love any museums,Love to explore small towns they have lots of history. I love talking to the elderly as they are full of wisdom I love the stories they tell of their life. I buy old letters from the 1800's on up & love reading what it was like back then in their life. I collect old postcards also.

    Judy, In this case after viewing photos of the rooms in their home, I would like to start with a clean canvas; unfortunately my client's taste is all over the map. Shabby chic, victorian and contemporary…Oh, a little traditional add to the mix. It is a mish mash of so many different styles, nothing is working together. So next week I will go over what they want to keep, what they are willing to let go and then do my magic. They are in need for new pieces, (i.e. foyer table, conversational chairs in the living room, a new bed, sofa for den, kitchen table, plus area rugs, window treatments and wall art. This is just the beginning! Ha!

    Hi Judy!
    I love your variety of fitness - walking, swimming AND Zumba! I mostly walk, but when the weather's not good, I use my Gazelle, rebounder or Fitdesk (stationary bike with a desk built on). We haven't had our bikes out yet this year, we got busy working on yard projects & then the humidity set in. Hopefully this fall, we'll get them out!
    I had lost 55# in 2012 when I found SP & kept it off for 3 years. I'd gained back 20 starting last fall. I thought I had a thyroid problem, had many symptoms, but when Dr did blood work, everything checked out fine. I'm glad for that, but not the weight gain. I just need to buckle down & work harder at it!
    You are right, staying healthy doesn't stop when we reach our goals, it has to be a permanent change.
    We CAN do this!

    It's funny you mention 'frenchie' I actually asked about her last night. She lives in the development where two other sets of our friends live. One stays somewhat in touch with her and said she was talking to her the other day and that she was distraught over being so lonely and with no friends. I'm not a mean person...I told this friend that when she was hostessing it was her choice if she wanted to invite frenchie or not...but that I....having the MIL that I do know only all too well about the manipulation and 'poor me' game and that when I had my hostessing duties she would NOT be invited.

    Don't you really wonder why people that bemoan they have NO friends never seem to look in the mirror and wonder why? emoticon It's always the other people's fault...always!

    Frenchie and MIL could be twin sisters! emoticon

    Hope you are doing great with your summer...I know you are staying busy and I'm so happy you are doing healthy! emoticon
