My name is Judy I retired this February. I was flip flopping back & forth with my weight for too long. In Jan. of this year I started to be a MINDFUL eater. When I go out to a restaurant ( which is not too often ) I go on line to read their menu & pick out from home what I want. That way I already know what I will have as if I did not I would be prone perhaps to order unhealthy. If I go to a buffet before even picking up the plate I walk the buffet twice then I pick out my grilled meat chicken & fish or if not grilled will get chicken take the skin off & breading so I have some protein. Then the rest of my plate is filled with all kinds of vegetables, plus a ;large salad with no dressing on it as I would not be able to taste the vegetable in it's crispy form. I use to smother my salad with dressing, then there is a;ways plenty of fruit . I always order water no sugared drinks !!! I am also & still can not believe my attitude change on working out. I walk 2 to 4 miles a day, swim 3 times a week for an hour straight, then Zumba twice a week. I almost lost my hand due to an accident. So I have changed in my thinking so much about life. I try to be a MINDFUL eater & MINDFUL in my exercise !!!

Never wanted to because marriage to me is forever, my parents divorced & so many other family & friends are divorced so I thought NOT ME , BUT I met my husband & he had all 7 qualities I was looking for. I worked in a pharmacy ( 27) years.

Love to camp,go boating.I would rather watch black & white tv rather than color.Love any museums,Love to explore small towns they have lots of history. I love talking to the elderly as they are full of wisdom I love the stories they tell of their life. I buy old letters from the 1800's on up & love reading what it was like back then in their life. I collect old postcards also.

Dearest Judy...my broken heart hurts for your broken heart!

It is SO hard to lose someone we probably loved MORE than ourselves! All I can say is you must find the strength to live your life with as much happiness as you can muster FOR your beautiful brother.

I've read mountains of grief books and books on the after life and so many of them say that when we are sad we make our dearly departed loved ones sad. I remembered that always and when I would get horribly weepy I would think I didn't want Josh's spirit to feel sad and guilty for leaving his dad and I. I became strong for him as he has always remained strong from a distance for his dad and I.

We can have no answer for why these horrible things happen to us but we both had some remarkable men in our lives and we were so blessed to have that experience.

I'm sending up prayers for you dear one during these difficult holiday festivities. Just remember your brother is STILL very much with you just in a different way now and he's cheering you on and wants your complete happiness and your life to be well lived.

Do that for him my dear friend and always remember when you'd like to talk about him I'm only a spark page away! emoticon

I too had so many framed photos on my tables and then one day I decided enough was enough. I bought a very specialized lined box for photos only so they were protected and wouldn't fade, took them out of the frames and store them there. I have no room for photo books. And eventually the real special ones were scanned and stored on my computer. The old ones that I didn't scan are in the special photo box. I realize that I only wanted a few framed photos that are changed periodically as my grandkids are growing. My daughter in law keeps me up to date with great photos and I get them developed so I can change my framed photos all the time. I don't keep any of the photos in the frame for a length of a long time. Never anymore, I am constantly developing new photos. Hope this helps.

Not even 7pm and I'm ready for my PJs. Listening to the rain thinking it won't be too long before I'm heading to bed with a shot of Nyquil instead of the hot tea.
I hope your week is off to a great start!
