Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
Hi! My name is Jennifer and I'm a proud wife as well as a mother of 2 beautiful girls; Kimberly, 4 and Savannah, 9 mos. I've struggled with my weight most of my life. Back in 2004, I joined WW just after getting married (what timing!). In about 6 months, I dropped 50 lbs and for the first time in a long while, I experienced what it was like to be at an ideal weight. I was so happy and swore to myself never to let my weight get out of hand again. Then, in 2006 I got pregnant again and despite my determination to keep my weight gain minimal, I was back up to pre-WW weight by my 9th month (with baby, at least). My baby's now almost 1 and I would love to say I'm back at an ideal weight by her birthday, which is May. I've found myself struggling though, with the holidays, birthdays, vacations, etc. I can't seem to stay on track when life isn't "normal". SP has given me all the tools and motivation I need and it's always there when I need it. I know with the help of SP I can do this again.
My goal is to eventually feel good about my body again like I did before my 2nd daughter was born. I proved to myself back then that I could achieve a healthy weight (and fit into a size 6). I have not gotten rid of my "skinny clothes" yet and I'm determined to put them to good use again.
I've confirmed what I already knew; tracking the food I eat is key in my weight loss effort. I am putting my passion for cooking to work and creating incredibly delicious meals that are good for me and can be enjoyed by the whole family. My 4 year old goes to preschool at the YMCA 3 days a week and I have no excuse not to take that opportunity to exercise. I can drop my 7 month old off at the babysitters during that time. The new MP3 player I got for Christmas will make my time spent working out more enjoyable.
I moved to Geneva, NY in August 2007 after living in Charlotte, NC for 30 years. It was a scary time and I wasn't sure I was making a good decision. My husband and I had our reasons; mainly we are chasing our dreams of owning a winery. But we left behind my family (although we are now much closer to his). Also, I had a 3 month old at the time and I couldn't believe we were actually going through with it. But since we've been here we've been so much happier. It was great to leave behind the big city and find ourselves in the country where we can look out our kitchen window and see for miles. And so far, I'm okay with the cold and snow. I would really like to meet some people around here and find a buddy or two.

You're a very busy woman now aren't you??
I also have a friend at The Three Brothers Winery, on Seneca Lake.
She has been there since they opened and has worked at another winery for quite some time. So let me know If I can help you in any way.

I'm doing good, I'm checking out a new way to exerc ise and have fun with it, it's called Zumba. There's not too many places around here that are doing it. So far I've found it in Canandaigua & Penn Yan. It's a Salsa type of dance aerobics. My diet, not so good lately, too much not behaving. I wish you the best of luck on your JOB! What winery?? Is it Ventosa???
If it is they have some very good wines. We need to get together sometime and have some wine and chat!!
Let me know how the job goes when you get it, I know you will.

Sorry to take so long to respond, things got a bit nutty around here. :)
That is quite a dream to follow! WOW! I grew up between Watkins Glenn and Dundee, lots of wineries. I spent many spring breaks tying grapes, burning one side of my body, lol! And a few more school breaks picking, at 14+ yrs old, it made for a good job lol.
Now I am sure I'd be happier testing the final product ;)
Yes, my link to the pics is down, my husband ( the web engineer) is in the process of designing a real estate site for me. So he took off the redirect to the one I had. Sorry. I changed my page so it didn't tell people to check out the pics, and they land on my real estate stuff. Thanks for pointing that out. Now I need to remember how many other places I have this mistake :(
How have the last few weeks been going for you?
Talk to you soon,

That's the spirit! I am a lifetime member of WW too and I thought exactly the way you are thinking. I was successful before, why do I need to pay them weekly just to weigh myself and attend their "pep rally". So far, the only reason I have not lost is my lack of commitment. However, I am gaining more thoughts of commitment the more I participate in the message boards here at Sparkpeople, so I see change on the horizon. Good luck with your journey!
