After 2.5 years I am back on Spark!!! I haven't been on for a while as I did a one year post-graduate course in primary school teaching, followed by a year's probation in a school and quite literally didn't have ANY time to commit to anything but school life!!!

Now that I have earned my stripes as a fully qualified teacher I have had to leave my beloved Scotland in search of new challenges and opportunities!! There are no jobs in ...

After 2.5 years I am back on Spark!!! I haven't been on for a while as I did a one year post-graduate course in primary school teaching, followed by a year's probation in a school and quite literally didn't have ANY time to commit to anything but school life!!!

Now that I have earned my stripes as a fully qualified teacher I have had to leave my beloved Scotland in search of new challenges and opportunities!! There are no jobs in Scotland and rather than worry about how I was going to pay my rent or feed myself (let alone have any sort of social life) I have upped-sticks and taken on a job in glorious Thailand!!! I teach Year 4 (8-9yrs old) in an International school, which caters for mainly Thai kids but the curriculum is taught in English. So far I am having a blast!!!!

However.... my waistline has been ever-steadily increasing and this is something I don't like!!! Luckily it is rainy season now but come November there will be plenty of opportunities to hit the beach and I would very much like a bikini body - not a food baby body or a Buddha-belly!!

My challenges are: 1) getting any exercise - I get up at 5.20am and get home around 5pm. I never feel like doing anything when I get home but would love to get into a routine where I run/go to the gym/do aerobics in my room; 2) the food is AMAZING and although it's relatively healthy I am eating too much; 3) beer is uber-cheap here - about $1/bottle - and it is thirst quenching, but it is also giving me a Buddha-beer-belly.

So there you have it! My goal is to be slim and gorgeous for my visit home at Christmas where it will be freezing cold and everyone will be milk-bottle white! I can't come all the way to Thailand and go home podgy and pale!!!

To lose about 12lbs and get back to my comfortable weight in time for my sister's wedding in May 09 - I'm a bridesmaid Yeeha!!

I'm from the beautiful Orkney Islands off the north of Scotland but currently live in Edinburgh.

I am currently working as an Office Manger in town but have been accepted to Edinburgh Uni and do a PGDE in Primary Education in September - can't wait!!!

Other Information:
"Everything in moderation."

I love reading, cooking, travel, languages, people, socialising, dancing, dinner parties, most music, good wine, all cheeses!!, chilli - and lots of it HOT HOT HOT!!!

Hi Jenna! Nice to hear from you! I knew about Bangkok from facebook and I find it absolutely amazing.

Yes, I'm back on Spark too although now I'm only using it to track my fitness and weight. There is nothing really new about me... photography is more and more important for me and finally I'm earning some money with it. :)
I gave myself three months to get in a good shape and then my friend is going to take pictures of me (hopefully sexy ones! emoticon ). That's my inspiration now and it seems to work!

I wish you good luck for your goals and let's inspire others again just as in the good old times!
