Hi and thanks for your comment about my weight loss goals. Honestly, the only way I am going to let go of this weight is slowly. I've tried it every other way and nothing worked!

We hiked all along the NorCal coast when we lived there, and I miss it--beautiful weather, coastline, forests. You are lucky to have such a gorgeous place (judging by your photo) to spend time getting fit. Enjoy!

Thanks for the blog comment! We're certainly looking forward to being a healthy family; it's a good balance, and once you're really in the habit of eating healthy, it's something you do without thinking about.

I only started gaining a lot of weight about 6 yrs ago after my dad passed away, so this for me is just getting back to normalcy. My husband started gaining weight when I was pregnant (monkey see, monkey do? haha) My daughter is a very healthy little girl, and we always make sure she eats well, even if we don't.

But we want to set a good example; we don't want to explain why we're eating cheeseburgers while she's eating whole wheat pasta and 2% mac and cheese. We don't want to tell her she can't have chips and dip while we're sitting there eating it as an evening snack (instead of something better like a small amount of trail mix. Also, we live in a community that is very health conscious, so I think the entire environment works for me like "peer pressure" but in a positive way.

Good luck in all your endeavors and if you ever need a shout of support, a cheerleader, or a kick in the pants, hit me up!

Hey Janet!

Just thought I'd drop you a line. How are you doing with your goals? I'm going to be so jealous when everyone in WA starts hiking again. I so wish I had taken advantage of all the amazing places there are to hike in WA while I was there. Ugh. Sure, we have mountains and hills here in CA, but it's just not the same. There are rattlesnakes. Ha ha! Just kidding. I mean, there ARE but...
