Getting Fit for Life
I began experiencing weight gain in 2007 when I developed medication-related, chronic pancreatitis. Between pain & nausea medications and going on disability, I continued to gain weight. In Feb. of 2012, I quit smoking and gained an additional 30 lbs. Finally, I recognized that I may be disabled, but I'm not dead and decided to live as healthy a life as I can. So here I am. Feel free to add me as a Spark Friend, and I will add you in return.

Personal Information:
My name is John. I grew up in Yuma, AZ, though I've lived in various places in California and eventually went to college in Chicago, IL. I moved to Tucson, AZ in 1989 where I still reside. As a gay man who grew up in a time and place where that was not remotely acceptable, I know what it's like to be disenfranchised. I've used that experience to volunteer with gay organizations, HIV non-profits, and currently, with a homeless organization which I'm still with. It keeps me balanced.
Other Information:
It's not the perfect but the imperfect that is in need of our love. - Oscar Wilde
