I am a busy grandmother caring for 8 small children while their moms and dads are at work. I have 2 new babies this year, 6 months and 2 months. The others are 3, 3, 3, 4, 5 and 7. So, you can see why I need to stay strong and healthy. My days are very stressful and I have to work hard to get in the time to exercise and take care of myself. Over the holidays, I didn't exercise like I should and I put on some extra pounds, which I would like to get off before spring. I'm finding it much harder to care for children after 50 and also to lose the weight. I love this website and all the tools!!

We are dealing with the same. Tornadoes were on either side of Madison County (Huntsville, AL) and we were lucky. Tennessee got hit the worst with the greatest loss of life and property. I hope you are okay. Both my fiancÚ and I have been out all week with the Type B Flu. He is still pretty bad but I'll go back to work on Monday. I was out for one week, back at work the following week, then it hit me again so I was out last week, too. My paycheck will be short for the next two pay periods. Yikes!!!

Remember to just take one day at a time on this journey of a lifetime. This journey consists of many small steps, a few speed bumps and pot holes, and a lot of fun. I will be here for you and try to help you on this journey to your goals. YOU can do this!!!
Watch your portion control. Be sure to drink plenty of water (8 - 8oz glasses a day) and walk. Water and walking will help you on this journey of weight loss and lowering numbers. Start small if that is all you have time to do and add to it as you are able. Even 5-10 minutes several times a day adds up to bigger numbers and will keep you moving. Invest in a good pedometer (about $10) and see how many steps you currently take each day. Before long you will be adding steps just to see how many you can do and how far you can go. WHAT A GREAT MOTIVATOR!!! YOU can do this!!! It's good to meet and have you with us.
