Yes, at some point I'll post a blog about it and all the other stuff going on, but figured I'd wait until after Christmas. Scheduled for January 13th. I have to pay for it because the insurance isn't covering it, but they had a 20% off schedule over Christmas, which is nice. I've been wanting this surgery nearly 10 years now, since that third pregnancy really destroyed my stomach! But especially in the last six months, when my skin has become a real problem. :/
I got about halfway through, then quit because 1) I'd gained 7 lbs from it and 2) I scheduled major surgery for mid-January which will take a lot of recovery - at least six weeks and probably longer before I can lift again. Originally I planned to wait until July for the surgery but decided to switch things around. I'll get back to New Rules eventually, but apparently this time it's not going to work out for me.
I miss running too, but I'm afraid my injury just keeps getting aggravated every time I try to run again. My leg was running/walking so strangely for so long that the muscles built up incorrectly, so they continue to pull my knee and ankle in the wrong direction. I'm hoping some of this weight lifting stuff will help, but in the meantime, no running for me. :/
Those pullovers that you have to do instead of the lat pulldowns are HARD! I used to have to do those and the bent-over barbell rows instead of seated rows before. I'm not sure on those pullovers that I ever got higher than 25 lbs.
I don't have a squat rack, so I can't do barbell squats. :( I'd love to, but the highest weight I can curl up to my shoulders is about 35-40 lbs, and that's not enough weight for squatting to make it actually do something. I do wish I had a rack!!
