Hi, I'm Joy. I’ve been an active Sparker since November 2006, and I've lost approximately 85 pounds and 8 dress sizes and had a baby along the way. My biggest milestone was on July 23, 2008 when I reached a HEALTHY WEIGHT!!!!
I did Babyfit during my first pregnancy, and it was excellent. Then, after I had my daughter, I thought I didn't need to enter my food in any more. I went from 184 when I had her up to 210, one pound less than my highest weight during pregnancy. By the time I got pregnant in August 2007, I’d gotten down to 144 lbs, only 9 pounds away from my goal (met and changed) and a healthy BMI. My weight loss is the reason I was able to get pregnant at all. My older daughter was IVF, but the weight loss got my PCOS under control and I was able to conceive naturally.
Through a combination of genetics and mindful eating, I was able to keep my weight gain in check during pregnancy, gaining only 19.2 pounds, which I was able to loose in less than three months after giving birth. I’ve slowly lost weight since having my daughter one year ago, but I haven't quite been able to get to final goal weight yet. My current fitness routine is Zumba once or twice a week and working out on my elliptical machine three days a week. I'm looking forward to swimming two days a week once the lake warms up. I aspite to get to three days a week of strength training, but I've been letting it slide.
I've come to conclusion that SP is a way of life for me. I plan to enter everything I eat and all my exercise in forever, because it's the only way I can keep control. I eat an average of HALF the calories when I enter my foods as I go (or in advance).
My new, and final, goal weight is 120. Spark People has given me the confidence to know I can get there. It has also given me the knowledge and drive to help others reach their goals. I'm pursuing a certification as a Nutrition, Wellness, and Weight Management Coach and am looking forward to helping other people change their relationship with food and exercise.
*Loose the last 15 pounds I have to loose, and maintain it forever
*Get to a size 4-6 petite
*Feel sexy and gorgeous
*Eat 1400-1800 calories
*Loose weight while maintaining my milk supply (burns about 400 calories a day)
*Mostly focus on portion control
*Eat the foods I love, but in moderation, so I never feel deprived
*Use the elliptical machine 3x/week, burning over 250 calories and going over 2.5 miles
*Swim 2x/week, for 40-70 minutes
*Mix it up by rebounding on my trampoline, jumping rope, jogging, riding my bike and playing Wii Fit
* Hike with my daughters and my dogs, but don't need to count it towards my exercise goal
*Lug around a 37 pound, 3 year old and my six month old:)
*Have one daughter almost 3 years old
*Have a 6 month old daughter

Hi Joy, I haven't been around spark for quite a while and my weight gain is proof of that. I've gained it all back, with the exception of a few pounds, and I am trying really hard to get back on the wagon. I did so well and threw it all out the window. I'm still kicking myself for it. I'm trying to not be too hard on myself and just get back to what I know will make me feel better, and that is a healthy lifestyle. It was a lot more fun and it just felt good. So, 2011 is a new year and I'm hoping to results similar to what I achieved in 2007. I hope you and the family are doing well!

Hi... yes I'm around...not doing good with my weight but, I know one day I will be wake up and be back at it! My goal this year was too just maintain the weight I've gained back and not put on anymore ...so far so good!
