I have dedicated my life (18 years so far) to people with disabilities, primarily mental retardation. I love these guys. They make me a better person.

I have a teenage son that also makes me a better person. He tests my limits to say the least. Being mom is the BEST job next to being the wife of a wonderful husband for almost 20 years. :)

I have a good job, a great family...how did I let myself gain so much weight?!?!

I want to take my life back! I am tired of feeling the "shame" of being overweight. I am so much more than a number on the scales but most of all... I want to feel better. I want to hike in the Smoky Mountains, climb to Mingo Falls, and tie my shoes without holding my breath. :) I deserve more than I have been giving myself.

The best is yet to come! :)
