Well, I've changed my user name again, but still am leaving my page title my original user name. I've been struggling a little the last couple of months and just feel that I am ready for a new start. I am learning to adjust being an "empty nester". While Kevin will still be home during school breaks, Katie still comes home frequently and there's always the chance one or more will have to move back home at some point, I've had to re-focus. So, no...I didn't forget the #4, I chose the sequence of numbers purposely. Regarding that...I will write a blog! :)
Hi all...as you may notice my page title is still Momof3teens810. That was my first user name. I blogged on 8/11 about my new user name, but short and sweet version: my oldest daughter turned 20, I realized this website was not a "fad", and it has become a devotion (Bhakti).
I have learned a lot about myself over the past couple of years, but most importantly I have learned that weight loss is not all about food and exercise. There is a huge mental aspect to this journey and I think it is the hardest part to change. This is where you...my friends...come in! Thank you for being here!
I have also learned that exercise and eating nutritious foods is important for way more than weight loss and a number on the scale. I only need to remember the struggles my mom went through with Type II diabetes and pancreatic cancer. I have other family members with various illnesses and diseases that are strongly associated with poor eating and sedentary living. My hope is to help them see that they can help themselves by making some small changes. It may not be easy, but it is sooo worth it.

Hi, I have finally decided it's time to take care of me and not just everyone else! My primary reasons for losing weight are to be healthy, have more energy, and reduce stress, but if I get to look HOT too, that's OK! :)
Goal weight: 145? Maybe? Is that a good weight for me? It's a number I prefer not to obsess over.
Overall, my goal is to be healthy and physically fit so I can live an active life without being stressed out over everything I put in my mouth or skipping a workout.
Trying to stay in 1300-1600 calorie range, at least 30 min cardio 5 days a week, strength training 2-3 days a week, plus whatever else I decide to try next!
Jan 2008: I started this journey at another site at 175 lbs in December of 2006, did OK for a couple weeks, gained it all back over Christmas and promptly started out 2007 with a nasty stomach virus. After recuperation, I found a great group of people who are now my "Biggest Loser" friends here on Sparks. When I joined Sparks in May, I was down to 162...13 lbs in 5 months. By the time we went on vacation in July, I was down to 152. Slow and steady... Since then, I slowly climbed back up to the 162 mark but have basically maintained there - bouncing up and down the same couple pounds. I feel comfortable here though, so for now I'm going with it.
I am the proud mom of 3 young adults - 2 girls and 1 boy.
