Just started P90x on 7-9-09

I am 34 years old and refuse to let time slow me down.
I used to weight train and even placed in some amature bodybuilding tournaments when I was in my early 20's. From the age of 25 on, things have were steadily going down hill. With more responsibilities and a demanding work schedule, I had let my self go. During a 7 year span I had went from under 10% bodyfat to over 25%. Though I would occasionally still get on my weight bench, it wasn't been enough to deal with my change in lifestyle ...

Though I would occasionally still get on my weight bench, it wasn't been enough to deal with my change in lifestyle as well as my slowing metabolism. In 2009 I decided that I wasn't going to slow down my lifestyle just because I was getting older - I was going to fight back and push even harder.

I have a unique and demanding work schedule which makes any routine difficult. I work a 12-hour rotating shift (aka "swing shift"). What this means is that sometimes I work from 6AM to 6PM and sometimes I work 6PM to 6AM. This can be weekdays, weekends and everywhere in between. My schedule repeats every 28 days, so I do know in advance what days I will be working and on what shift, so at least we can plan for that. With drive time and shower time, my work days start out at a minimum of 14 hours long.

Hi, JONDECKER76. I notice that generally speaking, men don't participate much in co-ed P90X Sparkers, but men communicate plenty in 50+ Males. I started a team called P90X Men for men only, thinking guys doing P90X might exchange a lot more in a men's only group. I invite you to check it out, huddle with the team, and see if there are any threads there you'd like to join or if you'd like to start a thread of your own. Looking forward to seeing you there.
