1/03/10 Like many people, I am refinding my Spark with the new year. I joined a local gym a week ago. It was less of a New Year's resolution than something I had been milling over for many months. For most of the Spring and the beginning of summer I was content with walking, doing my exercise videos and weights at home. But I started having some ankle soreness over the summer, and it really curtailed my exercise. At some point I also stopped tracking my eating, but I wasn't realIy ready to do that, so I need to work on improving my eating habits again. I've now made a 2 year commitment to this gym. A big part of the attraction to joining was the swimming pool. I figure even if my ankle is bothering me, I can still swim! 6/29/09 I've been active on Sparkpeople for almost 3 months, and have lost almost 22 lbs. It is defintely a day-to-day journey that I am on for keeps! Have a great day, fellow Sparkies! April 1, 2009 I'm excited to have found the Spark! I'm 39, have a 1 year old daughter, and I love reading, knitting, crocheting and walking. Since starting Sparkpeople, I've become reacquainted with my fitness video collection, and also started renting vids from Netflix and my library. I love trying everything--aerobics, yoga, pilates, weight training, step, kickboxing, and many kinds of dance: hip-hop, bollywood, ballet--I'll try anything!

My Goals:
-8 glasses of water per day. -2 fruits and 3 veg servings per day. -30+ minutes of cardio activity per day. -weight training 2-3x weekly. -yoga daily.
My Program:
I'm trying to track my food intake as much as possible. Now that I am teaching my little girl good eating habits, I find it helps me too. I start our meals with fruits and veggies and make sure I finish my servings.
