Hi John and thanks for stopping by my blog about intuitive eating. Like you, intuitive eating for me isn't so much about eating everything and being able to stop with small portions, but about having the confidence to continue with the generally healthy rhythms I had already established. So yeah, I definitely won't be rushing out for a few bites of a Big Mac any time soon, lol! That used to be one of my pitfalls and it's still just better for me to stay away from it altogether.
Tracking has been a very useful tool for me, but at this point, somewhat of an unnecessary one. Part of becoming more comfortable in maintenance has meant simplifying things wherever I can and not having the added task of having to enter all of my food in a database is helping me to do that. Also being able to loosen my death grip on how closely I have to keep watch on my habits is helping me to feel more relaxed about and get more enjoyment out of the process of living a healthy life, instead of operating in constant fear of regain. I'm still weighing myself regularly, so if I start to see an upward trend, I can take action and there's no reason why I can't go back to my old way of doing things, even if it's just for a short period of time until I feel like I have things back under control.
Hope you're having a great week, John, and thanks again for your great comments.
