Starting again...

The day was January 1st 2013 and the weight had peaked at 248.5. I laid in the bed watching informercials and thought..."I have got to do something about this."

Change had to come that day, but there was an obstacle...the giant hole in my stomach from surgery a few weeks before. But, I couldn't let that stop me.

What could I do that day to make an immediate change? The answer, track my food and stay within my calories. I knew that ...

I knew that day that I had to do this. My life depends on it.

And so I got started. I started with tracking my food and after my stomach healed, I added a little workout here and there.

I'm seeing results and I'm doing more.

I will do this - I will see my goal of 176. I'm not sure how long it will take, but I'm in it for the long haul!

Thanks so much for the kinds words. I will take your advice and set aside time for myself. I find that I'm always doing something for someone else instead of myself. Even my school work takes up a lot of my time. So I'm going to shake things up a bit.

Hi JOGALLMAN, I see we started out close to the same weight. I see that you are looking great. Please embrace those curves because some of us have them and some of us don't. I personally think that curves add to the beauty of a woman. So keep up the good work. Do you have any suggestions for me? emoticon

I'm finding myself losing motivation and trying desperately to hang on and not quit. Whenever I have those days (or weeks), I look back at the comments that others have left and I feel really proud of myself. That pride somehow turns into motivation and I want to keep on going. The idea that I inspired someone makes me want to work harder.

I am trying to let go of the relationship I have with the "Big Chick" inside, and everytime I come close to letting her go, something happens and I go running right back to her. But, ultimately, I'm winning and she will be gone soon.

Thank you all for the motivation. You all inspire me to keep going and I couldn't do this without my Spark family!!
