Merry Christmas! I haven't been on spark for a while. I did have surgery and laid off running for 4-5 weeks. I'm slowly adding mileage. It's a bit cold and cold. ;) how have you been?

Congrats to both you & your wife on the pending little one on the way!! That is so exciting!! I'm interested in the Sawtooth 50 but not for this year - next most definitely. I'm not sure quite how to go about training but thankfully I have a full year to learn! Any pointers aside from getting out there & pounding the dirt? I hope you have a wonderful week & CONGRATS again, that is so wonderful!!

You are welcome & happy you're back!! Believe me, I do understand. Are you still doing the Superior Sawtooth? Give me a heads up because I would love being support staff or helper or whatever. So happy to see you back!! :)

Thanks, Joe. It was a tough race because I usually train and race with a negative split pacing strategy but due to overcrowding on the first half of the course, I had to go with even splits. So, it was hard by the end, but all of my speedy long runs prepared me well for keeping the pace despite being tired. Also, even though I always say I'd rather be able to walk after a race than to PR, the competitive beast in me usually emerges and I gladly give up the ability to sit, walk, stand, etc. for that PR! :D

HAHA, goal is to finish! I never set a marathon goal because I'm still just overjoyed and a little shocked that I can run 26.2 miles. Also, you never can tell with the weather in Miami...
