3 years later, time passes and the pounds are creeping back. It is really easy to start increasing the portion size and forgetting about exercise. I owe it to myself to get serious once again.
I am 51 years old, have been overweight most of my life.
When I was at 125, (30 years ago), I also thought I was hopelessly fat. After having children I gradually, or may be not so gradually, increased my weight by about 50 pounds each time (4 children) and never really lost it. I have tried different diets and fasts, mostly below 1000cals, every time I lost any weight... and then gave up because I can't live my life eating only 1000 cals a day. For some crazy reason it never occurred to me to try loosing weight eating in a more sensible way, till Spark People!
My diet has been stricly lacto vegetarian, for health and ethical reasons, for about 35 years, I am learning a lot visiting Spark People, specially about what a "normal " portion should be.
I can't wait to post my AFTER pix! BEFORE ones were hard to find snce I usually hide behind something or someone whenever there are pictures taken.

I live in BC, Canada, with my husband of 34 years. We are a very close family, have traveled together all over the world, South Africa, Mauritius, England, France, India and lived in these places for several years.
While in India I practiced midwifery, (self trained). I teach pre-natal classes and assist my younger daughter, by taking care of 2 of my grand-children, Jhulan (8) and Devika (5).

I have been a vegetarian for 38 years, I don''t eat junk food, or drink sodas. My diet is well balanced, I just eat too much, don''t drink enough water and don''t exercise.. but things are changing!, The exercising part...
