Proud mother of two, grandmother of two, and wife of one! LOL! Also a dog-mom to Fergus, a wee Scottie. Retired and active, I love the outdoors, reading, gardening and spending time with family. Healthy living has sort of become my hobby, and I am hoping it is rubbing off on my two girls and their families.
Last August (2017) I resolved to try one new thing each month. So far I have done the following:
In August, I made jelly and pickled carrots from my garden for the first time in my life.
In September, I did a "BOOTY' workout. It was a blast! I am hoping to incorporate it into my 2018 fitness class schedule!
In October, I attended a meditation workshop. Man! Is it hard to rein in my thoughts!
In November, friends talked me into attending their Bikini Boot Camp class, convincing me that I could do a handstand, despite my certainty that I could not. I was able to do an assisted handstand. Well, it's a start...
Also in November, I tried out the Deep Water Jogging class at the local pool. It doesn't usually work with my schedule, but I had a window, so I jumped in. It was a much harder workout than I expected, and I would like to do more.
In December I attended an introductory POUND class. It was also a blast! I would like to do more of this also, but there just aren't enough days in the week for all the fitness classes I would like to take!
Bring it on, 2018!

    Hello Joanne, I hope you didn't get slammed by the wind storm last week. I was in Airdrie last weekend and there was a bad fire there, another one in the Hat and a really bad one north of us by Burstall. We've had people coming in at work with some horror stories so hope you stayed safe through it all. Our power was off for 21 hours - definitely not my favourite way to spend time....but thankfully I didn't lose anything other than power. It's another windy night tonight gusting up to 70km and supposed to drop to -10. Definitely not my choice of weather but I'll walk in it anyway! Have a good week and happy Sparking:)
