Tired of being fat!

Some people don't think I'm fat but I am not happy with my weight! Nobody can believe how much I weigh so I guess I carry my weight well. I'm more than 40 pounds heavier since I graduated high school (40 years ago) and I wasn't skinny then.

My Goals:
My main goal is to lose weight, ultimately a total of 40 pounds. The result of that will be increased mobility, energy and better health.

My Program:
I am currently keeping my calorie intake between 1000 and 1200 per day, aiming for less than 1200. I'm working on exercising at least 4 days a week, incorporating strength training and aerobic.

Personal Information:
Originally from Montgomery, AL, I have lived in Tampa, FL for 45 years - a wonderful place to live! I can be to the Gulf of Mexico in about 30 minutes.

Other Information:
I have been a Christian since age 9, am now 59, been married to John for over 38 years. We have 2 children, both married and both have children. Our daughter lives less than a mile from us with our son-in-law and 4 year old granddaughter and our son also lives in Tampa serving in a church as Minister to Students, with our daughter-in-law, 7 year old granddaughter and 9 year old grandson. My life seems consumed with health - I have been a type 1 diabetic for over 48 years. One of the results has been decreased mobility because of foot and ankle surgeries. I am very thankful that I can walk and do most things. The main problem is that I used to be an avid walker and now that is very difficult because it can be painful. Because of that, I have gained almost 40 pounds in the last 10 years. But I have much faith and believe that with God's help, this weight problem can get under control.

JoAnn, Thank you so much for the spark goodie...I love flowers...your kind words and most of all for your prayers. I really appreciate them and thank you for always supporting and encouraging me.
Sure hope you are taking care of you also...I understand you are having some crazy blood sugar readings lately. Keeping you in my prayers that they are back under control quickly. Is there anything I can do to help?
Blessings and hugs,
Helen

THE JELLY BEAN PRAYER

Red is for the blood he gave.
Green is for the grass he made.
Yellow is for the sun so bright.
Orange is for the edge of night.
Black is for the sins we made.
White is for the grace he gave.
Purple is for the hour of sorrow.
Pink is for our new tomorrow.
A bag full of jelly beans colorful and sweet
is a prayer, a promise, a loved one’s treat.
May the joy of Christ’s Resurrection fill your heart and bless your life!

Have a super blessed Easter Sunday and may the Easter bunny take all the calories out of your treats leaving you only the healthiest ones!!!
