I am trying to get healthier so I live long enough to watch my kids grow up (and keep up with them). I decided this was the year to start eating better. I have had a bump in the year with the passing of my mom, but I am back on track.

Once I get to 225, I want to go for a skydive! All I can say is look out below!!!

Update - As I was laid off on 12/1 and my rewards are not cheap, I will have to postpone them for now. Still working on me though. I struggled a bit ...

Hey!

Thanks for the comment on my blah blog the other day. I'm feeling better today. My boyfriend had a day off work for the first time in weeks (he's self-employed) so spending some couple's time lightened my mood.

I talked to him about how unhappy/bored I am and we decided to invest in some online courses for me to learn how to do some things to help him with his business. Nothing crazy, just how to make DVDs and titles and captions, etc. So that will give me something to learn, then something to do (until I find a real job) and it will save us money since he has to hire people to do those things.

My hotel closed down July of 2008 and the hotel / hospitality industry has not picked up and is not hiring upper-level management right now. The few jobs that are available I'm way overqualified for.

I was hired to be the Sales/Marketing Director for a restaurant (to remain unnamed) last summer, but they were way understaffed and my manager had the attitude of "sales/marketing stuff is extra, these customers are here now and I need you to (fill in blank) NOW." The blank would be anything from serving/bussing tables to actually making the food or mopping the floors. Nearly every day I was getting in my car and delivering bags food at lunchtime. And then he would get on my case because I wasn't very good at those jobs. So after four months of that I quit and haven't been working since.

Hopefully something permanent will come around soon. But at least now I have something new to learn and I'll be helping my boyfriend.

Hey thanks for the comment on my blog and for the friend add! I'm on the body bugg too. I originally got it four years ago (yeah, mine's the huge grey one) and lost over 80 pounds. I started dating a new guy and (of course) gained some weight so now I'm back on.

I live in Pasadena so we're neighbors! Congrats on your weight loss success so far. Feels good, doesn't it?

Thanks for the comment on the blog this last week. I'm going to add back in some rice and extra protein to see if that 'jump starts' anything.

Great new pictures.
