I Dare!

"We are capable of so much more than we usually dare to imagine."-Sharon Salzberg

I think I have struggled with my weight most of my life. I certainly wasn't the skinniest in my ballet classes! (nor was I the most coordinated for that kind of thing.) Luckily I grew up in a supportive and musical household with 2 sisters (one older, one younger) and a "baby brother" (who just turned 40 last July) I've been blessed to have had the chance to be a professional musician these past 13 ...

I think I have struggled with my weight most of my life. I certainly wasn't the skinniest in my ballet classes! (nor was I the most coordinated for that kind of thing.) Luckily I grew up in a supportive and musical household with 2 sisters (one older, one younger) and a "baby brother" (who just turned 40 last July) I've been blessed to have had the chance to be a professional musician these past 13 years. Lately I have been struggling with having the confidence needed to stand on stage night after night, and not feel like I was a frumpy and over-weight "folk-singer". Now that I am in my 40's I am noticing what a tough biz this is. I joined way back in December and was motivated for about a day, and then lost my oomph.

My angel kitty Willow passed away on Jan 3rd, 2008 and since then, I have found myself slipping into a sadness that is so unlike me. I have made the decision to really give Spark a REAL and SINCERE try this time. I am looking forward to making some wonderful friends here.

How are you doing these days? I have not seen you on the discussion boards lately. Are you okay? Just busy? I hope so. I hope your summer is going well.

Are you performing in August or September? I am trying to plan something fun for the Salt Lake City Sparkers to do in August and I thought about you. If you might have a suggestion for us to form a group of interested sparkers to attend, then I will market it with "gusto!" You just tell us the date, time and place. We will be there!

Please let me know how you are doing and if there is a time we can come see you perform.

Linda. emoticon emoticon

I think we were all perfectly healthy and sexy, until that "Twiggy" hit the magazine covers in the 1960's... We were all instantly fat in comparison to her, why did we do that to ourselves? I'm glad I'm older and over it! I like myself fine, and I feel good in my size 12 jeans, I don't need to be a size 0!
