In January of '06, I went from thinking about losing weight to establishing a life time goal to improve my health. That year I consistantly went to the gym at least 3 days a week.

In Jan '07, I started following "You on a Diet" and using Sparkpeople. I also increased my commitment to exercise.

November '07, I'm changing my approach. I've been plateaued since August at around 90 lbs lost. Now I am going to work at raising my resting metabolic rate.

November '08 - I'm still at the weight I was last Nov. Am I successful? In maintaining, yes. For not that is better than the alternative. But... I need to find my way to losing more. And I WILL.

March '09 - I've been up as much as twenty pounds, today I actually took measurements and have stayed on program. The gain is understandable given my mother being on hospice and passing away. But I will not allow myself to lose anymore ground.

At the gym a saying is posted that I have fully embraced.
YOU NEVER FAIL UNTIL YOU STOP TRYING

November '09 - I am still on this hilly journey. What used to work, I can put aside easily.

I've joined a challenge at the gym. Tracking again, in a journal the is turned in each week. It is different enough and accountable to a new group and seems to have brought my goals to the forfront of my conciousness again.

I am working on my visualization and only thinking and talking about the new me and the positives that are getting me there. I am what I think about and I think about Julie, happy, healthy active and with a 32.5" waist!!

Feb 2013: Dad passed away in Nov. Was very involved with caring for him the last 2 years. I'm now up 40. This isn't ok. Tonight I decided to make it real...AGAIN. The ultimate goal, that I have yet to reach is 35 weeks away from today @ 2#/week. 35 weeks from now is our 25th wedding anniversary. I have found my inspiration!!

Jan 2014: Almost another year and I gained 10# more. I know why, no sense in validating the excuses by stating them. I have successfully stayed on program for 10 days. Tested it at a restaurant today and feel positive. Here's to meeting my goal in 2014.

I will reach my goal!!
